AksyonVAW (Aksyon Violence Against Women) is a mobile application that calls on all users of information and communication technologies (ICT) – especially women and girls – to take control of technology and strategically use any ICT platform at hand for activism against gender-based violence. The project demonstrates the need for users to know their rights and to keep safe when online. The app features three types of violence women face online - such as cyber bullying, identity theft and online harassment - and provides some solutions and tips on what to do when one experiences such violence online.
